New Steed in the Stable

You might remember this Van from a post over on the Vandoleros site a while back. I stumbled on it one day not far from where I live. I was sent down a road I'm normally not on because of a construction detour and found it completely by accident. I stopped and talked to the owner about it, she wasn't interested in letting it go, but did want to get it up and going again. I told her I'd be happy to help anyway I could, and left my contact info. A couple weeks ago she called me to say she had (reluctantly) decided to sell instead of getting it back on the road. We worked out a deal and I picked it up yesterday. It's a petty nice survivor, more of a later 70's styled custom. I usually prefer more of an early 70's feel, before all the aftermarket stuff started showing up, but I might just leave this one alone. It has all the goodies of the era... fiberglass scooped hood, huge chin-spoiler, pop-out dual sunroof, lighted running boards, rear window louvers, roof rack, visor, VanTrekk Grille, etc. The original (custom) interior is still intact, which is a huge plus for me, you all know by now that I'm an interior nut. I think that's actually what sold me on it. It's so rare to find a van that hasn't been gutted already. Besides it even being there at all,  it's actually still in pretty good condition. The carpet on the floor needs to be replaced (anyone have any orange carpet?) but I think everything else will stay... even the mushroom stool. The body is excellent from the belt-line up. Below unfortunately is not so good, having the typical rust for a vehicle here in UT. It seems salvageable, I just need clean it up and go over the whole thing real good to be certain.

...oh, and Lane... I think we finally have a home for the Indy Spoiler-Awning!

Thanks Andrew! I think it's going to be a fun one for sure.
I'd love to come down for the shows. I'm pretty expended right now, I think I got myself into too much cool shit lately. ;) But, things have a way of working out. What are the dates on them? You never know, I might could still pull a rabbit or two out of my ass! I REALLY need to get down there soon, it feels like I'm in a sucky time warp or something up here.

That is so awesome! Congrats!
You now have 2!
Wish there was just 1 in South Africa!

Thanks Artur! Wow, South Africa? I can imagine they're a little tough to come by down there.

Andrew... Hmmm, that's still a ways out, maybe I can swing it. Winter will be rolling in up here about then, might be nice to get some sun!

You have no idea. I have only seen 2 in my life, and they are late 80's vans done up really badly. They looked like ass! In my fantasy garage would be what you found.
